We are seeking a skilled and proactive Azure Cloud Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing support, configuration, monitoring, and maintenance of Microsoft Azure platforms and services, as well as developing, maintaining, and supporting key applications using Python or similar technologies. This role also involves preparing and maintaining documentation, managing change processes, ensuring compliance with contractual requirements, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities:
Azure Platform Support & Maintenance:
- Provide technical support and administration for Microsoft Azure cloud services, including but not limited to Azure Service Bus, Active Directory, App Services, Azure SQL, and Azure Storage.
- Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot Azure services to ensure optimal performance and availability.
- Perform routine checks and maintenance of cloud infrastructure to ensure smooth operations.
Software Development & Maintenance:
- Work with project managers and subject matter experts to develop, maintain, and support key applications in Python or similar programming languages.
- Diagnose and resolve software faults effectively.
- Write and maintain unit and integration tests to ensure code quality and reliability.
- Develop software solutions following industry standards and best practices.
Documentation & Reporting:
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation related to cloud infrastructure, software applications, configurations, and best practices.
- Generate and present monthly reports on system availability, performance, and compliance with contractual requirements.
Change Management & Compliance:
- Manage change processes in alignment with organizational policies and best practices.
- Ensure that all cloud environments and software solutions meet contractual and security compliance requirements.
- Implement security best practices and maintain access controls to safeguard cloud resources and software applications.
Solution Design & Development Support:
- Provide expert advice on Azure cloud solutions, design, development, and integration.
- Assist development teams with cloud-based application deployment and infrastructure provisioning.
- Collaborate on software design and development strategies.
Continuous Improvement & Innovation:
- Identify opportunities for optimization and automation within the Azure environment and software development processes.
- Keep up to date with emerging Azure technologies, programming frameworks, and best practices to drive continuous improvements.
- Work collaboratively with teams to enhance cloud infrastructure and software solutions.
Incident & Request Management:
- Manage and resolve service requests and incidents logged in the ServiceNow platform within defined SLAs.
- Provide timely resolutions and escalate issues when necessary.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Strong experience in managing and supporting Microsoft Azure cloud services.
- Proficiency in configuring and troubleshooting Azure Service Bus, Active Directory, App Services, Azure SQL, and Azure Storage.
- Strong programming skills in Python or similar languages.
- Knowledge of cloud security best practices and compliance requirements.
- Experience in change management processes within an ITIL framework.
- Familiarity with monitoring tools and reporting mechanisms.
- Hands-on experience with automation and scripting (PowerShell, Azure CLI, or Terraform is a plus).
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with ServiceNow or similar ITSM tools.
- Understanding of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
- Exposure to containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
- Experience in writing and maintaining unit and integration tests.
